On Friday 13 November 2020 - Durban's Quinton Rutherford attempted to break a Guinness World Record for the longest distance paddled in 24 hours on a surf-ski. His aim was to beat the previous record of 214km established in 2015, by paddling from Cape Vidal to Durban Harbour.

Quinton didn't break the world record... he smashed it.

Not only did Quinton surpass the old record by paddling 227.3km, in doing so, he along with Spill Tech, raised R68 190 for the 1000 Hills Community Helpers NPO, an organisation that Spill Tech regularly supports.
